Post COVID, always-popular social occasion categories have seen very high levels of resurgence and growth, particularly evident in the Quinceañera category.

This ever-present, cultural celebration of womanhood, which has remained on-par with wedding and bat mitzvah planning and spending, is quickly becoming one of the largest social occasion markets for retailers, and now a focus of the VOW Bridal & Formal Market Atlanta in March.

Recent reports attest to this category’s growth, including conclusions offered from research conducted by the Dallas Morning News: “the Quinceañera tradition seems to have grown stronger over the past several years. All related businesses, from photography to dance halls and limousines services, are barely keeping up with demand.”

In a report from KXAN Austin, Jason Rubio, owner of Quince Expos, added to that sentiment, noting, “families are advised to begin planning for a quinceañera a year in advance; now, businesses are recommending a two-year planning period. It’s a welcomed change after multiple years of cancellations and postponements."

The continued growth of this category made a natural shift into the wholesale market: designers and wholesalers have entered and expanded product offerings, and retailers recognized the diversity and financial benefits of offering this niche product amongst other social occasion attire.

Business owners interested in exploring the opportunities of carrying Quinceañera can learn more about the category and discover product lines in person at VOW Bridal & Formal, at AmericasMart Atlanta, March 28 – 30.

VOW Bridal & Formal exhibitors, AMARRA and Sophia Thomas Designs, will both debut Quinceañera lines this March alongside additional established brands unveiling new collections, such as Princesa by Ariana Vara; Ragazza; House of Wu; Morilee and Quinceañera by Rachel Allan.
