Judging from the reaction on social media, Justin Alexander's recently launched Be You campaign in which a diverse group of business women and non-models represent the true Justin Alexander multi-faceted bride appears to be resonating and inspiring brides and retailers alike.
The unique backgrounds and stories of each of eight women are artfully and authentically presented dressed in current gowns from Justin Alexander, Justin Alexander Signature, Adore by Justin Alexander, Sincerity Bridal, and Lillian West collections.
Those included in the campaign, launched on Justin Alexander social platforms August 8, are plus-size fashion influencer Kelsey Gross, and Grace Strobel, the first model with Down syndrome to be the face of an American skincare brand.
Additional stories include:
-Shelby, diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, now a nurse, certified diabetes educator, and passionate about teaching and caring for children who also have diabetes;
-Rae, owner of Rae Marcel Studios, and a wedding and maternity photographer in the Midwest;
-Mikayla, wife and full time mom to two littles, owner of an event rentals business, and part-time dance teacher;
-Jessie, Juris Doctor and future Administrative Law Judge for the Division of Legal Services, and an advocate for a plant-based lifestyle and sustainable environmental initiatives;
-Danielle, Financial Advisor at Resource One Advisors, business owner providing financial planning and investment management to clients nationwide, and an advocate for financial literacy in America;
-Jessica, licensed esthetician and Acne Expert at Jessica Elaine Beauty, and co-owner of Brush Boutique, a size-inclusive clothing boutique.
The Be You 2022 celebration of diversity is just the latest showcase for Justin Alexander’s commitment to providing inspiring gowns for “every body type, every personality and every race”. Its first Be You campaign launched in early 2018 with plus-size fashion influencer Iskra Lawrence.
“‘Be you’ is a phrase often used at Justin Alexander because we believe that every bride should feel confident [personally] and confident their dream dress exists,” said Justin Warshaw, CEO and creative director of Justin Alexander.
“We want all our brides to feel seen and to easily imagine themselves in our gowns on their wedding day. To look at our photos and see a ‘familiar’ face—to see brides and models that represent them in all their diverse and beautiful ways.”
Bridal boutiques are reacting very positively to the campaign, often commenting on the creative presentation and the heartwarming stories of the “stars.”
Krysta York, owner, Charlotte’s Weddings in Portland, Oregon, commented that “Charlotte’s has been in partnership with Justin Alexander since 2011.
We’ve watched the company adapt and grow over the last decade, always making the necessary adjustments to best serve the needs of the bride. They are truly leaders in our industry and we are proud to work with designers like Justin who share our mission in making every bride feel celebrated and beautiful on their wedding day! It doesn’t hurt that they have beautiful gowns as well!”
