For Spring 2027 Idan Cohen, the creative force behind the bridal and formal design house that bears his name, IDAN by House of Idan, will be showcasing a dramatically expanded bridge collection first revealed to appreciative buyers at Market last season.
Based on that reception, and what we saw at market, we were curious to find out more about the designer and the man, to ask where he draws the inspiration to do what he does so well.
His answers...
VOWS:
For those stores unfamiliar with you, who is Idan Cohen?
Idan Cohen:
I am an Israeli-born American couture designer, devoted to bringing a true couture mentality and methodology to every bride I dress.
For me, beauty begins within — my designs are simply the vessel that allows a woman’s inner light to shine.
I am honored that my couture collections have been received so warmly by iconic stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Stanley Korshak, and I am excited to now bring my bridge line to salons across America.
Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of dressing celebrated artists including Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Carrie Underwood and Demi Lovato, experiences that continue to inform and elevate my approach to design.
VOWS:
What continues to inspire you… what fuels this desire?
Cohen:
I am endlessly inspired by the natural elegance of women and the poetry of the world around us.
Nature, in all its quiet power and raw grace, reflects the same beauty I see in every bride. This connection fuels my creativity and shapes every silhouette, every stitch, every detail.
My work is driven by passion, discipline, and a deep appreciation for life’s everyday moments — the light, the movement, the emotion.
These are the elements that invigorate me and guide my vision, transforming each gown into something timeless, meaningful, and unmistakably couture.
VOWS:
Your Spring 2027 collection showcases more depth than the initial soft release of IDAN by House of Idan last market.
Cohen:
The collection was received with open arms at our first foray into this market, and we are excited about the expansion the upcoming market will bring. We are coming with a strong understanding of what the stores and brides desire, and a continuing evolution in how to introduce couture to a wide range of brides.
VOWS:
How would you describe the uniqueness of this Spring 2027 collection?
Cohen:
The uniqueness of this collection comes from classic silhouettes re-imagined with a fashion-forward edge.
I was inspired by the 17th-century corset, infusing it with my own youthful spirit and modern perspective. Through elevated techniques and thoughtful construction, I honor the history of bridal while allowing contemporary design to break through tradition.
VOWS:
This collection focuses on accessible price points while maintaining your design and aesthetic. Can you explain what that means for boutiques in the mid-price point category?
Cohen:
Boutiques will be partnering with a true couturier — one grounded in an understanding of the feminine form, the development process, and the highest level of construction.
Beyond the gowns themselves, I travel with the collection to personally educate both brides and salons on my techniques and design philosophy.
This approach brings the experience of couture to boutiques across America, allowing stores to witness a designer at work in their own hometowns. Inspiration is everywhere — and I am always open to where it may appear next.
VOWS:
What support can boutiques expect?
Cohen:
My team and I are here to support you at every step, with dedicated customer service and sales teams available to answer any questions.
We offer standard customizations and are always committed to bringing each client’s dream gown to life. Marketing assets are available upon request, and I am always open to thoughtful, collaborative storytelling across social media.
VOWS:
Is there anything you'd like to say to boutiques and industry that we haven't asked?
Working with House of Idan is more than a partnership — it is a familial bond. I am deeply excited to expand into this new space within the bridal world and look forward to the creativity, growth, and beauty that will come from building this journey together with you and your salon.
