Judging from a survey of participating stores, this year’s National Bridal Sale Event was a success, with more than 71% of stores reporting strong sales, with 50% exceeding their previous year’s numbers.

“In a short five years this event has grown less as a sale and more as an event,” explained Sue Maslowski, founder of the NBSE and owner of Jay West in N.J. “This year more brides came in for the sale and 84% of them bought regularly priced goods.”

Additionally, of the 735 sale event participants, first-timers met sales expectations and overwhelmingly indicated they would participate in 2020, scheduled for July 18-25.

This year’s event provided a listing on the updated NationalBridalSaleEvent.com website, access to the NBSE Facebook group, a media kit with specific marketing materials for members’ use in their local market and assistance with Facebook advertising. It was supported by more than $100,000 in national advertising such as banner ads, newsletters, e-blasts, bridal blogs and social-media outreach by NBSE sponsors.

This national bridal media plan, which ran from July 5-27, reached approximately 4.1 million brides via the advertising and blogging support from Association of Bridal Consultants, Bridal Boutiques.US, BrideClick,The Association of Wedding Gown Specialists,The Knot, Bridal Guide, International Bridal Manufacturers Association, Inside Weddings, National Bridal Market,VOW | New World Bridal Market, VOWS Magazine, and Wedding Wire.
