Allison Deerr has contributed to VOWS since its first issue. Married with two grown children, Allison wore her mother’s heirloom ivory satin gown for her own wedding. A graduate of Fullerton College with an A.A. in journalism and California State University Fullerton with a B.A. in communications, she has been a writer/editor for daily newspapers and trade journals and volunteered for several non-profit groups. Based in Anaheim, Calif., she roots for the Alabama Crimson Tide (born in Mobile, Ala.) and California Golden Bears as well as her favorite pro sports teams.
She often writes on the intricacies of the day-to-day operation of a full-service bridal salon. Her particular style of conversational tone and detailed specifics has made her a mainstay of the publication and a favorite among VOWS readers.
