Subscribe    About VOWS  ventures into physical environment with Manhattan store has opened its first retail store in the heart of New York City’s Fashion District.

The 10-year-old company has only existed as an online retailer, and this is the first physical location in which its prom, mothers and special occasion consumers will be able to shop in person for gowns and dresses. Customers will be able to consult with a personal stylist in this space to find their perfect dress.

The new Manhattan store will provide dresses from an array of designers such as Jovani, Sherri Hill, Terani, Lara, Tarik Ediz, Mac Duggal, Andrea & Leo, Saiid Kobeisy and more.

Though the store and site doesn’t sell a deep selection of bridal gowns, it does offer a curated selection of special occasion dresses as “wedding dresses” and for guests of the wedding.

NewYorkDress created the store to deliver another level of service to its customers who had asked them to open a physical location, according to Elize Noujaim, Media Relations Associate for the company.

“From a marketing and sales perspective, we created the store to solidify our new brand image in a tangible way, to create new exciting and relevant content for our online audience, and to fill a key gap in the market by becoming one of the only physical locations in NYC to sell items from our manufacturers,” she said.

At this point, the Manhattan store is its only physical store front, though the company did not rule out the possible expansion into additional locations in the future.

With multiple dressing rooms available, the 8,900-square-foot retail space is art-deco inspired. Velvet couches are available for consultations with clients, different patterned rugs are placed on the floor, and white bulb chandeliers hung from the ceiling provide warm lighting to the space. In addition, the walls are lined with red brick and the gowns are displayed on racks and mannequins throughout the space.

Additionally, eCommerce call center and warehouse are also housed in the space. Customers are able to book appointments on the NewYorkDress website, where they will be able to see where the store location exists. Once the customer clicks on “Book an Appointment,” they will be able to select the day and time they would like to visit and meet with a stylist.

After selecting the date and time, the customer provides their name, e-mail address, phone number, the occasion for which they are shopping, their size, color preferences, and specific styles of interest, and how many people will attend the appointment, and confirmation to receive text reminders.

Based out of New York City, has existed for 10 years and focused on evening, cocktail, mother of the bride, prom, pageant and specialty dresses from an array of designers around the world. The company ships to more than 160 countries around the world and carries more than 7,000 styles from 50 designers online and the retail store carries 2,500 dresses.
